DINING
Pastina: Elegance in an Casual Atmosphere in Westwood
By Carole
Valentine
Applauded as one of Los Angeles’ finest, most affordable
Italian trattorias, Pastina’s delights are apparent as soon as
you walk through the door. The setting is as sophisticated as
it is comforting. Tapestry booths under a magnificent skylight
give the room a stylish and airy ambiance. The mood is bright
and energized during the day and causally elegant at night,
with ample supplies of Italian hospitality provided by
proprietor/host Franco Catullo. Just the mere mention of the
name Pastina elicits superlatives among the intensely loyal
clientele who come, eager to enjoy the fresh, creative
regional specialties. As Charles Perry of the Los Angeles
Times writes, “Pastina strikes a perfect balance between
favorite dishes of the moment and trusty standbys with waiters
that have that Italian enthusiasm for seeing diners happy.”
Pastina has all the “right stuff” to impress. Full bar,
extensive wine list and Bindi desserts flown in from Italy.
Valet parking is available. Lunch is served Monday – Friday
11:30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. Dinner is served Monday – Thursday
5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 5:30 p.m. to 10:30
p.m. Closed Sundays.
